How "Mark as Done" works on Free and Starter plans, and how it helps Campaiyn improve recommendations over time.
On the Free and Starter plans, after you apply a recommendation manually in Meta Ads Manager, you return to Campaiyn and click Mark as Done. This article explains what happens when you do that and why it matters.
When you click Mark as Done on a recommendation, Campaiyn records:
This creates a before-and-after record that Campaiyn uses to evaluate whether the recommendation led to improvement on your next scan.
Mark as Done is not just administrative bookkeeping. It is how Campaiyn's AI learns what is working for your account.
When you run your next scan after marking recommendations as done, Campaiyn compares:
Over time, this feedback makes the AI's recommendations more relevant and accurate for your specific type of account.
Pro tip
Make a habit of marking recommendations as done promptly after applying them -- ideally the same day. This creates a clean signal for the AI to learn from when it compares scores across scans.
No. Campaiyn does not verify that you actually made the change in Meta Ads Manager. Mark as Done is based on your word. This is intentional -- Campaiyn trusts you to apply changes as you see fit, and your own judgment about what you actually did is more accurate than any automated check.
That said, if you mark something as done but did not actually apply the change, your next scan will likely surface the same issue again. The score improvement feedback loop only works if the underlying change was actually made.
Mark it as done anyway and run a new scan. If the issue persists despite the change, the scan will re-detect it and the recommendation will reappear (possibly with updated context).
If a recommendation consistently reappears despite you applying it, that is worth emailing support@campaiyn.ai about -- it may indicate a detection issue or a deeper account problem that needs a different approach.
On Growth and Agency plans, Apply Now executes the change directly through the Meta API. There is no Mark as Done step because Campaiyn already knows the change was made -- it made it.
Mark as Done is the Free and Starter equivalent, for accounts where you are making the changes yourself.
